Designed under the working title 50/50 House for sister real estate development firm Solsbury Hill, this project attempts to deliver a faithful Mid-Century Modern spec home with contemporary materials, performance, and technology. Designed with Atlanta’s narrower intown lots in mind, Centripetal Works set about fitting a four-bedroom, three-bathroom “MidMod” within a fifty-foot-wide footprint. Touching on the classic H&M Homebuilders tri-level floor plans seen in old growth suburbs of Atlanta like Doraville and Dunwoody mixed with references to California’s Eichler Homes in the design of the carport, the design seeks to provide the authenticity the project brief calls for.

Tentatively envisioned for a site in Decatur, its sustainability features will include upgraded thermal and air barriers, contemporary energy saving technologies like smart thermostats and a heat pump water heater, and it will be EV charger ready. Additional upgrades and custom finish packages are available if the project is pre-sold during its construction.
